Iced Cherry Chai Latte

Iced Cherry Chai Latte

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup half and half (or coconut or oat cream for dairy-free), chilled
  • 1 handful ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed Chai Five Original Blend, chilled
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or Barista-style Oatmilk, chilled

Homemade Cherry Vanilla Syrup

  • 1/2 water
  • ¼ sugar or maple syrup
  • 10-12 pitted cherries (jarred or fresh)
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste

Directions:

  1. Make the cherry vanilla syrup: In a small saucepan, combine water, cherries juice, and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, whisking to dissolve the sugar. Mash the cherries. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly reduced and hue turns red. Stir in vanilla bean paste. Let cool at room temperature, then strain the syrup into an airtight jar. Refrigerate for up to 1 week.

  2. Make the cherry cold foam: Froth the half and half with 1 1/2 tbs cherry syrup using an electric frother until doubled in volume and foamy. (You can also use an immersion blender of whisk. Whatever works for you.)

  3. Assemble the Latte: Fill a glass with ice. Add brewed Chai Five, then top with milk. Spoon the cherry cold foam on top and drizzle with cherry syrup if desired.
